New Foreign Policy Chief in Togo

President Faure and his Prime Minister Komlan Mally have appointed Léopold Gnininvi , the leader of the opposition party CDPA as the new foreign minister. Gilbert Bawara, a very close ally of the President will remain as the Cooperation Minister. He also assumes the role of minister of the development and territorial planning. In the previous governement, he played a big role in restoring the cooperation between Togo and the European Union.
The new cabinet is very slim with only 21 ministers compared to Agboyibor's (there were 34 ministers in the last governement).
Pascal Bodjona, the current Chief of Staff is not coming back soon to Washington where he is still the Ambassador. He is now Press Secretary and Minister of State in charge of decentralization and local governments.
